There Richard met his wonderful wife Marge where they were both studying for the Bachelor of Theology degree and were in the same year.
In 1992, they moved to South Granville where Richard was the Assistant Minister of Merrylands parish. During 1994 they moved on to Campbelltown parish, where Richard was the Assistant Minister, ran the branch church at Airds, and was part-time University chaplain at UWS Macarthur.
After three and a half years at Campbelltown, Richard was offered the position at West Ryde Anglican Church, where he was the Senior Minister for seven years, from 1997 to 2004. Richard completed his Master of Arts (Theology) part-time during this time, studying at Morling College and other colleges.

Rev. Matthew Brooks-Lloyd - Assistant Minister

Matthew has worked as our full-time Assistant Minister since February 2015.
He grew up in Western Sydney, attending The Kings School, Parramatta. He began attending a local Anglican Church in his final year of high school, where he discovered God’s great deal offered in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He continued attending that church for 20 years.
After school, Matthew went into the insurance industry, working for brokers. Wanting to use his Economics degree and believing he would have more time for Christian ministry, Matthew completed a Diploma of Education, then taught Social Sciences in two Sydney High Schools for eight years, where he also ran the school’s Inter School Christian Fellowship.
Matthew then studied at Moore Theological College, where he completed four years of training for a Bachelor of Divinity, and the following year completed his Diploma of Ministry. Since college, Matthew married a beautiful girl, Cathy, and they now have three young children – Jonathan, Luke and Ellen.
He has worked on staff at churches in Willoughby, Blacktown, the Lower Mountains and Bowral before joining Mittagong Anglican. He is an ordained presbyter, and recently completed his Master of Arts in Ministry.

Steve is one of our assistant ministers at Mittagong Anglican Church and oversees ministry to youth and young adults - including our youth group, our group for those in years 5 and 6, our young adults bible study group and our 5pm service.
He became a Christian while reading John's gospel after a school holiday event at a local church, and more than 20 years later he's still keen on other young people finding out about Jesus too.
After working as a Chemical Engineer for a few years, Steve realised that engineering was getting in the way of gospel ministry, so he quit his job and started a ministry apprenticeship at his church and then went on to study at Moore Theological College. He was then ordained in February 2016 and commenced work at Mittagong Anglican.
Steve is married to Julia and they are blessed with four daughters: Grace, Evangeline, Zoe and Mary.
