A CHURCH FOR EVERYONE

Mittagong Anglican

Mittagong Anglican Church (St. Stephen’s) is a Bible-believing church in Mittagong, NSW. We belong to the Evangelical Reformed Anglican Diocese of Sydney.

Our vision is to be a church that is:

“Alive with Christ”

As a church, our mission is to Know Christ, Grow in Christ, Connect with Christ, Serve Christ and Share Christ.

We’d love to see you at one of our Sunday Services, or weekly activities for Children, Youth and Adults!

Why ‘St. Stephen’s’?

Our main centre is named St. Stephen’s after a man who the Bible tells us was “a man full of God’s grace and power”, who preached Jesus’ death and resurrection so boldly that he was killed for his faith. Like Stephen, we aim to live for Jesus in everything, and never be ashamed to proclaim his name. For more information on Stephen, read Acts 6 and 7.

Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,   made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Our Vision

Alive with Christ

We are ALIVE WITH CHRIST in our homes and the Highlands, in all our gatherings and as we take the gospel to the world, so God’s grace is made known and his kingdom is grown.

VISION Prayer – Heavenly Father, great is your love and rich is your mercy, you have made us alive with Christ, when we were dead in sin. Help us to be passionately alive with Christ in our homes and the highlands, in all our gatherings and about taking the gospel to the world, so the immeasurable riches of your grace to us in Christ is made known.

Our Foundations

What we believe

As a church what we believe is summarised succinctly in the Apostle’s creed:

We believe in God, the Father almighty,Creator of heaven and earth,

We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again, he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy apostolic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
